After my last post, the flood of love and support has truly taken me back and forced me to reflect on how much I’d be sacrificing if I were to walk away. Sometimes I forget that there are ACTUALLY people out there who appreciate and gain value from what I do.

I must have also forgotten that I have made tons of amazing friends in this movement who are here for me and more than willing to help. Two of my friends reached out after seeing my post and helped me formulate a pretty good plan to stay in the fight.

Long story short, they suggested that I begin utilizing SubStack, since Substack appears to be the only free speech platform with any reach. I wasn’t aware that SubStack had video capabilities, which would allow me to utilize both video and written content.

We went over some numbers, and with hard work, in a few months I could probably make enough supplementary income through Substack to keep going. As they pointed out, with the 2024 election coming, now is not the time to walk away when independent journalists are needed most!

I am going to take the weekend to think, and am open to any and all suggestions in terms of finding a good balance between free and supporter content. I also need help figuring out how to do this without making my supporters here on Locals unhappy. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment your opinions! I’m thinking I may just offer a compensation for those who wish to switch from Locals to SubStack rather than paying for both. Just need to figure out how that would work.
